Trust Programs
Paramount to the advancement of our Fraternity are Chi Phi’s leadership education programs. In order to be truly successful and meet the unique needs of our men, our programs must be timely, relevant, and responsive as we help our Brothers, Chapters, and Associate Chapters with their most pressing challenges. The Educational Trust is proud to support the programs below, which continue to experience record-breaking attendance every year.
Alphas and Thetas Academy
This prestigious annual leadership training is held every January for Chapter Presidents and New Member Educators. Alphas and Thetas are presented with the tools and resources needed to lead their Chapters and to navigate the unique challenges presented to them. Curriculum throughout the weekend focuses on developing their own leadership traits and strengths, an understanding of leadership theory, practical application of these theories, as well as an opportunity to engage with previous Chapter Alphas and Thetas, Trust Leadership, Grand Council members, and other Alumni.
Regional Leadership Alliance
This is an annual officer training, member development, and Chapter Advisor education program offered in the spring. Throughout the one-day training, Brothers will gain a better understanding of the expectations, duties, and responsibilities of their Executive Council role, identify national resources who can assist in effectively managing their Chapter, and practice using information about their position in scenarios. Additionally, upon conclusion of the RLA program all Chapters will participate in a Strategic Planning meeting where they will establish specific goals for the upcoming year.
StrengthsQuest
All incoming New Members will have the opportunity to complete Clifton StrengthsQuest. A proven developmental tool for students to learn more about their leadership styles and how to engage with others, StrengthsQuest has continued longevity and application as members enter into chapter leadership roles and navigate future career goals.
Total Member Education
Continuing education on self-selected topics and interests beyond the new member experience is provided to both individual Brothers as well as entire Chapters and Associate Chapters. General leadership training and development is also offered from the National Office through online courses, workshops, webinars, and conference calls.
Certified Recruiter Course
Participants learn the art and science of organizational growth from the experts. Members of Chi Phi Fraternity have access to a digital classroom to help learn the fundamentals of growth taught to Chapters and Councils across the country. After the successful completion of each course, participants are qualified to become a Certified Phired Up Recruiter.
Fred Kieser Memorial Leadership Scholarship
Understanding the importance of leadership and education training to our Brothers, The Fred Kieser Memorial Leadership Scholarship was established. This scholarship is designed to provide a grant to at least one Chi Phi Brother in good standing with his Chapter and the Fraternity to attend an educational or leadership program each year.
Fred Kieser, Theta 1962, spent over forty years demonstrating his passion for and dedication to Chi Phi. Brother Kieser served on the Educational Trust as a Trustee, Secretary, and Chairman, and he also served as both Grand Gamma and Grand Alpha for the Fraternity. The scholarship was established as a means of honoring Brother Kieser’s character, leadership, and service.
